Onassis ONX is a space dedicated to a community of dynamic artists and outside collaborators. Our values are centered on mutual respect, support, and inclusion for all those who participate. We expect everyone who enters our community to be mindful of the resources we all share, courteous to others, and collaborative in our shared needs. By accepting Onassis ONX membership or fellowship, you commit to these values and code of conduct.
The basic responsibilities of a member or fellow is that you actively participate in the community and conduct themselves according to the Code of Conduct. This includes using the space and tools to develop work, participating in programming and events when possible, and keeping the team up to date on what you’re working on. These updates are an important part of how we support and evaluate our community, and will be used to help allocate grant, production, and travel funding. Please reach out to the Innovation Director to learn more.
We are working in a shared space! In order to foster a better community please exercise common sense and be mindful of each other. Respect personal space, treat the studio with care, clean up after yourselves, and try to be open and communicative!
NOISE: As Onassis ONX is an open-plan, shared studio, we ask that you make yourself aware of your neighbors’ noise preferences and be considerate of the people around you. Keep phone calls to a minimum and speak at a low volume in communal areas. Utilize the landing area just outside the studio or in the building lobby for longer calls or conversations.
BIKES: Unfortunately, we cannot keep bikes anywhere at Onassis ONX, please do not bring your bike into the building. You may lock it around the neighborhood -- there are several bike locking stations in the area.
SERVICE ANIMALS: Onassis ONX accommodates service animals for those with disabilities. A service animal is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities and the task must be directly related to the person’s disability. Unfortunately, no other animals, including comfort animals, are allowed.
RESERVATIONS: Keep in mind that we are a tight community but still have limited space and equipment! Be considerate of others when using shared resources. Conference and production rooms must be reserved in advance. Please be considerate of the entire community when booking space and limit your usage to important meetings or actual project development.
MODIFICATIONS: Any modifications to the studio need to be approved in writing by the Program Manager. Any modifications to the space should be done neatly and stylishly, taking into consideration the rest of the community.
STORAGE: A personal locker can be provided upon request. Otherwise storage is also available in the equipment area for projects that are actively being worked on. We have a limited supply of communal storage space and should only be used for essential equipment. Any storage is at the discretion of Onassis ONX. Storage questions should be directed to Studio Fellow.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: Onassis ONX is a semi-public, open plan studio space, but also a semi-private community. Many of us are under NDAs with clients and partners, and working with sensitive material that, if leaked, would make them liable. As such, we’d like to propose a shared code of ethics to help protect everyone’s intellectual property.
PRIVACY: You decide what to reveal and what to keep private. Onassis ONX is a semi-public space, so we ask everyone to be mindful of what they choose to share, discuss, and leave exposed in the space.
